Raka has been under going and extensive refit by Crocker’s Boat Yard since the winter of 2007-08.
She is a work in progress. Crocker’s has worked on her in the winters and had her commissioned for her owner’s enjoyment each summer. The owner has taken on some of the work himself.
Work performed to date:
80 frames replace with laminated white oak. Interior was removed and frames were laminated in place.
Repaired rot in mast
Replaced the mast step
New shaft log
Replaced damaged floor timbers
Bottom stripped
Rewire
Electronics upgrade
Decks replace with teak
Complete New cockpit
Replaced the propane system
Refinished original toe rails, handrails, covering boards, and house sides
