"Little Joe", a 40 ft Huckins, was launched on a warm August Afternoon
Floating Free from her launching straps in Manchester Harbor
Waiting for weather to lift for a trip up to Maine
A few days later, while cruising the coast of Maine, disaster struck
"Little Joe" ran over an unknown submerged object in open water, the props show us that it wasn't imagined!
Bronze props and rudders bent like twigs!
As soon as "Little Joe" was trucked back to CBY, a thorough inspection revealed significant damage.
Hardware was carefully removed and marked appropriately.
